What this covers

This policy explains what data properOG collects, why, and how it's handled.

Data controller: Kuinka Oy, Business ID 3179414-9, Helsinki, Finland. "We" means Kuinka Oy. "You" means anyone using properog.com.

Data we collect

Account data

When you sign up via Clerk (our authentication provider), we receive your email address, name, and profile image. This is stored in our database to link your account to your checks, generations, and purchases.

Usage data

We store your OG image checks, brand extractions, and generation history so they appear in your dashboard. Anonymous users get limited functionality without any data stored.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe provides us with a transaction ID, amount, and payment status. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Analytics data

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic patterns. This collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, referral source, device type, and approximate location. No personal identifiers are sent to Google Analytics.

How we use your data

• Deliver the service: render OG images, process payments, show your dashboard.
• Rate limiting: track usage per account tier (anonymous, free, paid).
• Product improvement: understand which features get used.
• Communication: transactional emails only (purchase receipts, download links). No marketing emails.

Legal basis for processing

• Contract performance (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): Account data, payment processing, and generation delivery. Necessary to provide the service you purchased.
• Legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): Rate limiting, fraud prevention, and product improvement analytics. Our interest in operating a secure, functional service.
• Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)): Google Analytics tracking. You can opt out at any time (see Cookie Policy).

Third-party services

Your data passes through these services:

• Clerk - Authentication. Stores your login credentials and session data.
• Stripe - Payment processing. Handles card data and billing.
• Neon - Database hosting. Stores your account, checks, and generation records.
• Vercel - Application hosting. Processes your requests.
• Cloudflare R2 - Image storage. Stores generated and cached OG images.
• Google Analytics - Traffic analytics. Anonymized usage data.
• Google Gemini - AI image generation and classification. Processes prompts and brand data for AI features.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

Data retention

Account data and generation history are kept as long as your account exists. Check results for public URLs are retained indefinitely as part of our public scorecard pages. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access your data (view it in your dashboard, or request an export).
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to processing of your data.
• Data portability (receive your data in a standard format).

Children

properOG is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top. Continued use of properOG after changes constitutes acceptance.
